At Vegan Beauty Philippines, we proudly support the Katutubong Mangyan community by fostering fair trade opportunities and shining a spotlight on their incredible artisanal skills. Through handcrafted packaging made from sustainable local resources, we celebrate their craftsmanship while championing a meaningful livelihood that uplifts their community.
CURRENT STATUS OF BENEFICIARIES:
Demographics: 35 women, all housewives, belonging to the Katutubong Mangyan community.
Economic Status: Living in poverty, with limited financial resources.
Education: Majority have not completed elementary education.
Employment: Currently unemployed, relying on their husbands who work as construction laborers earning Php 400/day.
Family: Each family has three or more children.
Environment: Residing in mountainous areas where fruit-bearing trees and crops are abundant, providing potential opportunities for sustainable agriculture and livelihood.
Empowerment of Women:
By earning their own income through weaving, women can contribute financially while still managing household responsibilities.
Financial Independence:
Housewives will no longer need to rely solely on their husbands for household expenses.
Increased Dignity:
The ability to earn and contribute to the family’s income can significantly boost the dignity and self-esteem of these women. It fulfills the need to be needed, giving them a sense of purpose and value within their community.
Cultural Preservation:
Engaging in traditional weaving helps in preserving and passing down cultural practices to future generations.
Sustainable Practices:
Utilizing materials from abundant fruit-bearing trees and crops promotes sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The sparkling eyes and radiant smiles of the Katutubong Mangyan students at: Sipit Siburan Mangyan School, Lapantay Mangyan School, Pagturian Mangyan School & Ambang Mangyan School in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, will forever be etched in our hearts!

What started as a heartfelt gesture of giving became the foundation of a vision: to uplift and collaborate with the Mangyan community, creating opportunities for empowerment and sustainability.
That day wasn’t just about gifts or smiles—it was about connection, hope, and the beginning of a journey that continues to grow. As we look back, we are reminded that true beauty lies in kindness, in lifting others, and in building a future where no one is left behind. 💚✨
